KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Chiefs will be even more short-handed on the offensive line this week. Romeo Crennel announced Thursday that Jon Asamoah would not play against the Bengals on Sunday. Asamoah injured his thumb Monday night against Pittsburgh. He had surgery on the thumb this week.

Asamoah has started all nine games this season at guard. He will be replaced by Russ Hochstein. The Chiefs picked up Hochstein in late September. He is in his 12th season in the NFL.

Crennel was hopeful that Asamoah could return for the Denver game.
