KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI - If you follow Eric Berry on Twitter , you got the news first.
The Chiefs number-one draft pick let his followers know he's signed a contract and is headed for training camp.
The team had not confirmed the news until late Friday evening.
Berry started 39 games at Tennessee, collecting 245 tackles, 14 interceptions with three touchdowns, 31 passes defensed, three quarterback pressures, two forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries.
Berry was a unanimous two-time All-America selection at Tennessee and won the Jim Thorpe Award as the nation’s top defensive back as a senior.
