KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The NFL’s new bag policy to provide a safer environment for fans was in effect for Friday night’s Chiefs game.
The Chiefs are handed out complimentary clear plastic bags out to season ticket holders.
For non-season ticket holders, bags can be bought in stores that sell Chiefs merchandise as well as online from the Chiefs website.
Under the new policy, purses will not be allowed, but small clutch bags approximately the size of a hand can be carried into the stadium.
Other bags that are clear plastic and are the same size or smaller than the clear plastic bags being handed out are also permitted.
Some employees said they brought their lunch to work but weren't allowed to bring it into the stadium because it violated the bag policy.
For the most part, fans knew they could only use a clear bag, but some still aren't happy about it.
Some fans said security was fine without the bag policy. Others said it violated privacy and the bags aren't as fashionable.
"Classy, " opposer of the new bag policy Becca Hood said.
