KANSAS CITY, Mo. - - The Kansas City Chiefs declared they were no longer on the free agent sideline Saturday with the signings of two players who will have immediate impact.
Early Saturday afternoon, the Chiefs announced they had signed former Houston Texans offensive tackle Eric Winston to a contract, though neither side immediately announced terms.
Winston, 28, was released by the Texans last Monday after failing to miss a single start for the Texans since 2006.
Later on Saturday, the Chiefs announced they had signed former Cleveland Browns and Denver Broncos quarterback Brady Quinn to a deal.
Terms of the Chiefs’ deal with Quinn, and any impact it might have on the starting quarterback job with Matt Cassel, weren’t immediately available.
