The traditions celebrated on Thanksgiving are many.

There’s food, family, fun and of course, FOOTBALL!

Three games are on the NFL schedule on Turkey Day this year.

The day of football kicks off in Detroit, where the Lions host the 9-1 Texans in the traditional NFL Thanksgiving Day game in the Motor City.

Houston has won four in a row, while the Lions have lost nine of their last 10 Thanksgiving Day games, last coming out of Turkey Day with a win in 2003.

Houston and Detroit kick off at 11:30 a.m. CT on CBS.

Next up on the NFL slate is another Thanksgiving tradition - a game in Dallas. In an NFC East rivalry matchup, Robert Griffin III leads the 4-6 Washington Redskins into Texas to play the 5-5 Dallas Cowboys.

The Redskins and Cowboys begin at 3:25 p.m. CT on Fox.

The NFL nightcap can be seen on your 41 Action News channel.

The 7-3 New England Patriots, coming off a 59-point performance against Indianapolis, test Rex Ryan's defense when they play the New York Jets in the Meadowlands.

The game is set for 7:20 p.m. CT on NBC.
