I don't really have a strong opinion one way or the other on this new offensive coordinator the Chiefs hired.

Brian Daboll is certainly not a flashy hire.

It's difficult to judge his past because he worked for two bad teams in Cleveland and Miami.

In each job, he had multiple quarterbacks.

The biggest thing I take from this hire, it's apparent the Chiefs are sticking by Matt Cassel as their starting quarterback.

Scott Pioli told me he's not “married to Cassel and there will be an open competition at that position.”

After listening to Daboll today, I don't know about that.

Sounds to me like the new coordinator and Cassel are still joined at the hip from their days together in New England.

This is a comfortable hire for Pioli as well.

Cassel is thrilled about Brian Daboll and why wouldn't he?

Cassel couldn't stand Todd Haley as a coordinator or a head coach.

Cassel looks at this like a new lease on life.

Charlie Weis admitted two years ago he was hired to fix the quarterback, referring to Cassel.

Weis never got that chance because Haley ran him off after one season.

Look, the Chiefs are now on their sixth head coach since they've won a playoff game.

They've had five offensive coordinators in the last four years.

When is Clark Hunt going to figure out this game is about the players?

Scott Pioli has become as easy target.

Don't blame him. Don't blame Romeo or don't blame all those coordinators.

The owner needs to be held accountable.

Clark Hunt needs to throw caution to the wind and allow Pioli to do whatever it takes to go out and draft Andrew Luck.

It's time to depart with some of those high draft picks.

If you want to dance, you must pay the fiddler.

The Chiefs were $20 million under the salary cap last year, so don't tell me Clark Hunt is serious about winning a championship.

He owes it to the football fans in this city who put up $375 million in tax money to redo Arrowhead Stadium.

It’s on you Clark Hunt to go get us a quarterback so we can have a chance to compete with the big boys.

That’s Jack’s Smack.
