Jack's Smack: Get ready for the first work stoppage in the NFL since 1987

We better enjoy this upcoming NFL season together because there's a very good chance, that the stadiums will be empty and dark in 32 cities a year from now. I bring this up because it’s going to get nasty.

The Players Union has filed a suit against the owners who have already worked out a deal with the networks where they will get their television money should there be a lockout next year.

The owners would be guaranteed $4 billion dollars from TV should a strike happen. The fat cat owners will have that money rolling in like nothing ever happened.

In most of these labor disputes, I’ve been on the side of the players, for the obvious reason - they are the game.

The reason we're faced with the possibility of a strike next year, is the fact the players already get 59% of the revenues. That’s outrageous, but the owners screwed up by caving in. Now they want the players to take an 18% roll-back.

Guess what, it ain't happening. Get ready for the first work stoppage in the NFL since 1987.
