While I watched the euphoria and excitement unfold Saturday night in Columbia, I couldn't help from thinking about what was taking place at Mount Oread.

You talk about football programs headed in opposite directions.

Missouri is on the threshold of greatness, nailing down its third division title in four years.

Football can no longer be taken seriously at Kansas. Jayhawks simply can't compete at this level of competition.

KU has been outscored 159-24 in the last three games. Break that down, they're losing by an average score of 53-8 over that period.

Meanwhile, Missouri is the only undefeated team in the Big 12. Not only are the Tigers favorites to become conference champs after knocking off Oklahoma, Missouri is now a legitimate contender to play for a national championship. Yes, the Tigers are that good.

The KU Athletic Department is a mess. New head coach Turner Gill is treading water. He's in over his head. It’s not working.

And the KU Athletic Department is still being investigated by the FBI and IRS.

I'm calling on the chancellor at Kansas, to do everything in her power to drop football…just do away with the sport and all the embarrassment it has brought to the university.
