OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - This week's HyVee Athlete of the Week is a winner both on and off the court.
Matthew McHugh of Blue Valley North led his team to a 47-41 victory Friday night against Bishop Miege.
The senior guard scored 21 points and is shooting 45 percent from the 3-point line.
He's a true student athlete with an impressive 4.1 GPA.
"School comes first, as they always say. You're a student athlete for a reason. Just trying to make sure the homework gets done, but also getting your time in the gym," McHugh said.
McHugh signed with Purdue to play baseball with his brother. He'll play both pitcher and shortstop.
