KANSAS CITY, Mo. - This week's Athlete of the Week put on one unforgettable show at the Grain Valley Showdown.
Brittany Atkins scored 104 points in a three-game stretch, (30 pts, 50 pts , 24 pts) to help Lincoln Prep win the tournament.
The senior, knocked down 50 points in the semi-finals against Grain Valley.
In order to score this many points, Atkins had to be very versatile on the court.
"I just to tried to score in different ways; get rebounds, put it back up, get steals on defense, shoot three's, take people one-on-one", said Atkins.
In the championship game against Pleasant Hill, Lincoln Prep was down by 14 points at the half.
Atkins stepped up and knocked down 10 points in the second half, carrying Lincoln Prep to the championship win, 45-41.
Lincoln Prep improves to 7-4 this season.
"I'm very fortunate to be able to coach my daughter. For her to have the successful season that she's had this season and she's put in a lot of work, she's very deserving of it", said girls basketball coach Jeff Atkins.
Brittany Atkins will head to UMKC next year to play basketball on a full-ride scholarship.
