BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. - Morgan Connors is no stranger to finding success in the pool. The senior won the 200 freestyle at the Suburban Gold Conference meet for the third time. This year, however, that individual performance helped propel her Blue Springs South squad to their first team conference title since 2000.
"This has definitely been my best season. I have had some great teammates in past years, but this has been, by far, the most rewarding and all-around most fun season I have had," she said.
Connors has helped make it a special season. The All-State swimmer has been a leader to this relatively young team, according to coach Errich Oberlander.
"She's a great leader both in the pool and outside of the pool. She doesn't know a stranger. She'll talk to anybody. She is super friendly," he said. "She just leads in every aspect."
Connors is hoping to lead another impressive showing at the state meet.
"In past years, we have placed around 30th. So, we are really hoping this year to be top 20 at least, if not top 10," she said.
