BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. - Dalvin Warmack is only a junior, but he fully understands the significance of beating crosstown rival Blue Springs South.

"It's always a special thing for the seniors and everything else to have a very good game against South," he said.

So Warmack made sure his team had a very good game on Friday night. The Blue Springs running back rushed for 151 yards on 17 carries. He scored three times in the 35-14 victory.

"The key to my success is just the little drills every day. My linemen are an amazing group of guys."

Warmack and his linemen have provided a potent rushing attack for the Wildcats. Warmack did letter the past two seasons at Blue Springs. However, head coach Kelly Donohoe said his running back is really breaking out as a junior.

"He really came in to his own this year. He's a great weight room guy, a great offseason guy, an afterschool guy. He was really committed to being a great back for us," Donohoe said. "He has put muscle on to his frame. He brings a great vision, quickness to our backfield. He's very much respected by our guys. He does everything the right way."

Warmack runs with his eyes on the end zone. That explains why he is not content with a 6-1 start to the season.

"Our goal every year at Blue Springs is to win state," he said.
