LONDON - Leavenworth long-distance runner Amy Hastings made her Olympic debut in women's 10, 000m Friday, finishing 11th and placing highest among the Team USA competitors.
Hastings' final time was 31:10.69.
Hastings is a 2001 Leavenworth High School graduate and earned 10 NCAA All-American honors during her time on the track team at Arizona State.
After what she called a disappointing marathon outing in the Olympic Trials in Houston in January, Hastings came back to win the 10, 000m at the U.S. Trials in Eugene in June.
