KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Sporting Kansas City learned late Wednesday night they will start the playoffs on the road at Houston.

That’s after the fifth-seeded Houston Dynamo edged the fourth-seeded Chicago Fire, 2-1, in the Eastern Conference Knockout Round in Chicago.

If you want to see Sporting’s match at Houston in person, go to the Kansas City Cauldron Facebook page to RSVP for tickets. That’s facebook.com/ kccauldron . Tickets cost $22 each and can be bought through the Kansas City Cauldron fan club. Money will be collected individually. Fans have until Friday at 12 a.m. to purchase tickets.

Sporting knows all about the Dynamo. Houston knocked Sporting KC out of the playoffs last season in the Eastern Conference Finals. The loss prevented Sporting KC from advancing to the MLS Cup finals. Houston lost to the LA Galaxy, 1-0, in the 2011 title match.

The Dynamo went undefeated at home this season and has a 29-game unbeaten streak at home dating back to July 9, 2011. Sporting KC met Houston three times this season. Sporting recorded two draws and suffered the team’s last road loss in a 2-1 defeat at Houston in July.

Sporting KC will play at Houston on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. CT. The match will air on your 41 Action News station.

The Members’ Club at Livestrong Sporting Park will host the team’s official watch party. Doors open on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Sporting KC will return to Kansas City, Kan. on Wednesday Nov. 7 for a home match against Houston for the decisive return leg of the two-game, aggregate goal Eastern Conference Semifinals series.
