KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The umpire crew for Wednesday night's Royals-Rangers game visited kids fighting serious illnesses at Children’s Mercy Hospital on Wednesday.
Build-a-Bear workshop hosted the event, and the Royals mascot Slugger was also on hand.
Each child chose their own stuffed animals along with outfits for their furry friends.
There were even toy-sized Royals uniforms.
MLB umpires have hosted 75 children's hospital events since 2006.
