LENEXA, Kan. - Both directions of Interstate 35 saw a heavy backup in Johnson County Thursday morning because of two separate multi-vehicle wrecks.
The first happened around 6:45 a.m. in the northbound lanes just south of Interstate 435 in Lenexa.
Two lanes of traffic were blocked, causing a backup well past 119th Street.
In the southbound lanes, the right lane was blocked at about 119th Street because of a second crash involving a tractor trailer.
There was no immediate word on injuries in either crash.
By a little after 9 a.m., video from Kansas City Scout Cam showed both directions had started to move again, but slight delays continued.
