KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Several cars were involved in an accident Wednesday morning that put a major kink in the morning commute on Interstate 35 on the Kansas side of the metro.
Police report the accident happened around 6:25 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the interstate just north of Southwest Boulevard in Kansas City, Kan.
Skytracker video from over the scene showed a sport utility vehicle on its top in the middle of the roadway. Seven other vehicles were involved, authorities said.
All northbound lanes were briefly blocked while crews with the Kansas Highway Patrol worked to clear the scene. A single lane was opened just after 7 a.m. By 8 a.m., all lanes had reopened.
Authorities say the accident may have been caused by an icy spot on the road.
Injuries were reported, but they were minor, according to the Patrol.
