KANSAS CITY, Mo. - If you were driving in rush hour traffic Friday morning in Kansas City, there’s a pretty good chance you were involved in, or at least came across a significant delay.
Four separate accidents caused delays on interstates 435 and 70 Friday. All three involved injuries, though none of them were considered life-threatening.
A tractor trailer and several other vehicles were involved in a wreck around 6:15 a.m. in the northbound lanes at Gregory Boulevard. Only one lane got by for about two hours, and traffic built up past 87th Street and was approaching Bannister.
At about the same time, another accident involved multiple vehicles in the westbound lanes of I-435 at Holmes, where traffic was temporarily backed up into the Three Trails Crossing. All lanes were open again by about 8 a.m.
A third wreck soon after was slowing westbound Interstate 70 at the Blue Ridge Cutoff. At one point, traffic was backed up all the way to MO-291 Highway, but by about 7:45 a.m., motorists were starting to move again.
A fourth wreck was reported 8:30 a.m. involving four vehicles at I-435 and Bannister. No injuries were immediately reported.
