OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Emergency crews were called out to a series of crashes Wednesday night in Johnson County.
The first wreck occurred on northbound Interstate 35 at 75th Street in Overland Park. Police officials say someone on foot seeking help or otherwise leaving the scene of the accident was then struck by a car on the off-ramp from I-35 to 75th Street.
Another car sustained heavy damage after a wreck on eastbound Interstate 435 at I-35 in Lenexa shortly before 10 p.m.
Five ambulances were sent to the scene on I-35.
Two people involved in the first wreck sustained moderate injuries, authorities said. There was no update available early Thursday on the person who was struck by a car.
