KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A pedestrian was struck and killed on the side of a Kansas City interstate Tuesday night.
It happened around 9:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Interstate 29 just south of Missouri Highway 152, police said.
Police on Wednesday identified the man as 53-year-old Douglas E. Frazier, whose last-known address was in Joplin, Mo.
Traffic was blocked for about 90 minutes while emergency crews worked to clear the scene.
The cause of the accident was not immediately clear. Authorities say the driver of the vehicle involved did stop and assist investigators.
