KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A tractor trailer crashed early Wednesday in Kansas City, catching fire and stopping traffic in the southwest corner of the downtown loop.
The crash happened just after 5 a.m. on the bridge on Interstate 70 over I-670.
Authorities closed the ramp from eastbound I-670 to northbound I-35.
It was reopened a little after 8 a.m.. so rush-hour traffic could get through, but officials closed it again for about an hour at 9 a.m. to finish clearing the scene of the crash. It has since reopened.
The driver of the tractor trailer was the only person inside and was not seriously hurt.
Both directions of US 71 Highway at Truman Road were closed for a few minutes right after the crash, but have since reopened.
