KANSAS CITY, Missouri - Rain spread across the Kansas City area Friday morning, soaking the parched landscape and pooling in front of the Intercontinental Hotel on the Country Club Plaza , stalling at least one car.
Three-quarters of an inch of rain fell across town between 6:30 and 9:30 a.m. Friday, according to NBC Action News meteorologist Brett Anthony. The rain is expected to continue off and on throughout the day, totaling as much as 3 inches before stopping Sunday.
The precipitation continues Saturday night, perhaps mixing with sleet or snow Sunday morning before the skies clear Sunday afternoon.
High temperatures are expected to reach 45 Saturday and 41 Sunday.
