This will leave us with 4 to 6 decent shots at winter snow and ice. This is why we are forecasting snowfall amounts 31 inches lower than last winter.

There will be an increased chance of a major ice storm with this weather pattern. And, we think the coldest outbreak of the season is more likely in late January or February this year.

This is a very complex weather pattern. For more information please read the Winter Weather Forecast on our Weather Blog and check out our Winter Weather Forecast webpage .
