KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) - Backup goalkeeper Jeff Attinella made nine saves, including several spectacular first-half stops, but Real Salt Lake had to settle for a scoreless draw with shorthanded Sporting Kansas City on Saturday night.
Sporting (2-1-2) had to play a man down after the 83rd minute, when midfielder Uri Rosell was issued a straight red card for a hard foul on Devon Sandoval, but Salt Lake (2-0-3) couldn't convert on the opportunity.
