It's a big deal in the pop culture world. More than 130,000 are expected to be there -- including some pretty famous Kansas City Natives.

Paul Rudd will be pulling on some tights as Marvel Comics' Ant-Man next Summer. But before that, KCMO native Don Cheadle will join the Avengers: Age of Ultron as War Machine.

It isn't just actors that are big at Comic Con.

Local writer Jason Aaron who pens, Thor, Wolverine and the X-Men, will be there as well.

Comic Con isn't just capes and superheroes.

Many movie studios use the convention to debut sneak peeks at next summer's biggest films.

The new Hunger Games movie, Jurassic World and a remake of cult hit Mad Max are all expected to make the show.

TV networks are also using the con to debut footage from this fall's new line up. NBC is holding a screening of Constantine a super natural thriller debuting this October.

Even Lego is getting in on the fun, debuting this massive over 6 foot tall recreation of the Dragon Smaug from the Hobbit.

The real show stoppers though are the fans, who come dressed up as their favorite characters in extravagant costumes.
