PKD Walk raises money to fight kidney disease

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A Kansas City group wants to help patients with polycystic kidney disease (PKD) by raising funds and awareness. PKD is a genetic disorder that causes cysts to grow in the kidneys.

Nearly half of patients with PKD progress to kidney failure, and right now the only cure is a kidney transplant.

The PKD Foundation is leading the fight to bring a treatment and a cure to patients all over the world with the Kansas City Walk for PKD at Avila University on September 8.

Find schedule and registration information on the Walk For PKD homepage, http://tinyurl.com/8o2r4j5 .
