Überdine dishes up Butternut Squash Soup

Butternut Squash Soup
1ea butternut squash
1Tbsp olive oil divided
1ea small yellow onion
1 clove garlic
1teas. Chinese 5 spice
2c chicken stock
½ c heavy cream
1Tbsp. kosher salt
Procedure: Cut the squash in half lengthwise and scrape out the seeds. Place onto an oiled and salted sheet tray and roast at 350 degrees for 45min or until the neck of the squash is softened. Allow to cool and scrape the squash out of the skin. Meanwhile, peel and thinly slice the onion, chop the garlic, and add the remaining oil to a small stockpot. Add the onion to the pot and sweat over medium heat for 5-10 minutes until the onion is translucent. Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Add the remaining ingredients, bring to a boil, and simmer for 10minutes. Transfer the soup to a blender and puree while holding the lid on tight using a towel. Serve immediately with garnishes of your choice.
What steps do you plan to complete during the live segment? I will demo the squash prep and put together the soup on the stove.  I will also demo how to blend hot soup (without actually running the blender on camera). I will be bringing a large variety of garnishes for the host(s) and I to build our own customized soups and taste.
