Michael Jackson wrongful death trial to begin

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Jurors in a civil case filed over Michael Jackson's unexpected death will listen Monday to opening remarks from attorneys hoping to frame the issues before testimony begins in the months-long trial.

The case centers on allegations by Jackson's mother that the company promoting her son's planned series of comeback concerts failed to properly investigate the doctor convicted of involuntary manslaughter for his death.

Lawyers for concert giant AEG Live contend the company did nothing wrong and could not have foreseen the circumstances that led to Jackson's death in June 2009 at age 50.
