VIDEO: OP funny man Jason Sudeikis returns as Coach Lasso in NBC Sports ad

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The out-of-place football coach trying to understand the ways of soccer is a viral hit again.

Overland Park's funny man Jason Sudeikis plays Coach Ted Lasso in a new video for NBC Sports’ Premier League ads.

The newest ad, “The Return of Coach Lasso,” was released Thursday to promote the beginning of the Premier League in August. It shows what Coach Lasso has been up to since his brief, six-hour Premier League coaching stint in England. There was even a cameo of Team USA’s hero himself, Tim Howard.

The first ad was created in 2013 to announce NBC Sports’ broadcasts of the English Premier League. In the first video, Sudeikis, as Coach Lasso, an American football coach, went to England to coach the Premier League team the Tottenham Hotspur , a coaching stint lasted a grand total of six hours.

Sudeikis, an Overland Park native, rose to fame as a cast member of Saturday Night Live. He has also starred in the comedies "Horrible Bosses" and "We're the Millers." He is also one of the founders of the annual Big Slick charity events in Kansas City benefiting Children's Mercy Hospital.
