"Finding Dory" is just as enjoyable as "Finding Nemo." It has the same humor and many of the same characters.

This film focuses on Dory trying to find her parents. With her short-term memory loss, it's difficult. With the help of Nemo and Marlin, she's able to remember things from her childhood that ultimately lead her to where she's from.

What I loved about this film was getting to see Dory's back story. We see her as a little fish, struggling with her memory loss. Her loving parents work very hard to help her remember things. She is very cute as a child-fish, and her parents are really nice. It's pretty heart wrenching when she is separated from them. Like most Pixar films, there are tears. Be prepared.

Dory, Marlin and Nemo eventually find their way to an aquatic preservation center in California. That's when the real adventure begins. We get to this point pretty quickly, which is nice. We also meet several new characters, including a salty old octopus, two funny seals, a Beluga whale and a near-sighted whale shark, all who help in Dory's journey.

This movie is funny, touching, sad and heart-warming. This is the kind of film Pixar and Disney excel at. It's not just for kids. It's for the whole family.

While this didn't resonate with me like "Finding Nemo" did, it's still a great film and a really enjoyable one. Definitely a must-see for the summer and for you parents, be prepared to watch this on an endless loop once it hits DVD.

I saw "Finding Dory" in 3-D. I don't think it's necessary unless you really enjoy 3-D. Save yourself a few bucks.

Be sure to get there early enough for the trailers. You'll get to see another Pixar short film called "Piper.” It's delightful. If you haven't see Pixar's collection of short animated films, I highly recommend looking them up. They are so good.
