Shoryuken! Kansas Citians compete in Sin City gaming tournament

It's summer and it's hot and your kids are inside. Good guess, they're probably playing video games. That could actually pay off for them in the long run.

This weekend a few KC natives are playing video games for money.

A lot of money.

Right now in Las Vegas, the world's largest video fighting game championship is happening.

In the last decade the Evolution Championship Series has given out about $500,000 to competitors. Last year's winners won about $60,000. That's not too shabby for a weekend. Winners also receive sponsorship deals and of course bragging rights.

Our KC team "KC | SRK" will need to keep an eye out for Daigo Umehara. He's never finished lower than the top 8 in the world and he hasn't won it all since 2010.
