It's #ThrowbackThursday on the Now KC and we take a look at the West Bottoms then and now!
On this Throwback Thursday, we kick things off at the 12th Street Bridge.
Built in the early 1900's, was the hub of activity. A flood destroyed it in 1903 and the bridge was fixed for $75,000. In 1923, a judge ordered that it be rebuilt again. It was and that renovation was completed three years later in 1926.
In 1940, a fire partially destroyed the bridge and destroyed its center and made the floor fall into the river.
Now, the 12th Street Bridge serves as an events hub. Just to rent the mid-level section, it will run you about $7,750! If you want to rent the lower level, it'll cost about $6,650.
