KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A metro mom held out hope Monday for information about her missing daughter after authorities announced they were reopening the case in her disappearance.
Kathryn Sholley Seefeldt was 12 years old when she was last seen early in the morning on Oct. 13, 2002 at her Jackson County home in the 19000 block of N. 18th Street.
Nine years later, authorities said Monday they are looking for fresh leads in the case for the missing girl, who is now 21.
Investigators say they haven't received any leads at all since the girl's disappearance, but that's not dimming the hope of Kathryn's mom, Sholly Seefeldt.
Sholly Seefeldt says the she and her daughter had their problems, but she now fears her daughter was caught up in child trafficking.
"I would like to tell her, ‘Mommy is not mad at her; Mommie has never stopped thinking about her,'" Seefeldt said. "Every night I go to bed, I pray for her."
