Fort Riley investigating soldier's death

FORT RILEY, Kan. (AP) - Fort Riley officials have released more information about a soldier found dead in his barracks room on the northeast Kansas post.

But there's still no word on how 21-year-old Spc. Nathan Conley died. The Army said Wednesday the investigation is continuing.

Conley was found dead around 5:30 a.m. Monday in his barracks room at the Warrior Transition Battalion. Radio station KMAN reports Conley was an M-1 armor crewman who deployed to Iraq from November 2010 until February of this year, when he was assigned to the Warrior Transition Battalion.

The battalion supports the rehabilitation and transition of wounded, ill and injured soldiers back to active duty or to veteran status.
