KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The heat was definitely on in my latest web workout with my Facebook Friend, Charlene Bessetti. She invited me to workout at Bikram Yoga of South Kansas City.
The room is heated to 105 degrees and 40 percent humidity. The instructor takes us through a series of 26 postures and two breathing exercises. The theory is that the heat prevents injury because it relaxes our muscles so they easily stretch.
There were some great stretches, and I admit, it was tough keeping my balance. I definitely had to modify some of the positions because I still have limited flexibility. All I can say is that I made it through the 90 minute heated workout.

Charlene also gave me her healthy recipe for spaghetti with sauteed zucchini and yellow squash. She calls it super easy. You'll need:
-your favorite spaghetti sauce
-1 zucchini, thinly sliced
-1 yellow squash, thinly sliced
-1 clove garlic, minced
-1 tablespoon olive oil
-salt and pepper to taste
1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the zucchini and yellow squash and cook until golden brown about 5 to 6 minutes.
2. Add the garlic, salt and pepper and toss with zucchini and squash. Continue cooking until garlic is fragrant.
3. Cook spaghetti pasta until al dente, drain, top with sauce and zucchini/squash.
4. Serve with a side salad and enjoy!
