I have the greatest respect and admiration for Scott Mendenhall of Overland Park, Kansas.

He was injured in a motorcycle crash and is a paraplegic. He is wheelchair bound but he doesn't let that stop him.

After attending a Midwest Ability Summit, he found out about the KC Revolutions wheelchair rugby team and he's been part of it ever since. Now he's inspiring other people in wheelchairs to get active.

Scott invited me to his strength training workout this week. In his wheelchair, he pushes himself up a steep 4-story ramp in Overland Park. I walked alongside seeing the incredible strength he has to quickly get to the top of the ramp.

"I do this at least three times a week and I love getting out there and playing wheelchair rugby with the team," Scott said.

People of all abilities can get information at the Midwest Ability Summit on how to make life easier and how to get involved in sports.

The Midwest Ability Summit is free. It's on Saturday, August 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Overland Park Convention Center.
