KANSAS CITY, Mo. - More than 500 of the world's most competitive barbecue teams are in Kansas City this weekend for the 34th annual American Royal World Series of Barbecue in the West Bottoms.
Teams from all across the world, including Japan, The Netherlands and Canada, have taken over the 22-acre lot around American Royal and Hale Arena and will be competing in the world's biggest barbecue competition.
Invitational competition starts Saturday and the open competition starts Sunday. Guests are welcome to attend all weekend long.
