KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Better food choices are headed to communities across the metro.
It is all part of the Truman Medical Center Healthy Harvest Mobile Market. The mobile grocery stores will travel throughout Kansas City's urban core on a weekly basis this summer.
It gives people an opportunity to purchase healthy food choices such as fruits and vegetables in their community at an affordable cost.
The bus will make five stops each week on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting on July 19. In addition to fresh food, education will be a major focus of Healthy Harvest Mobile Market.
There will be nutritionists and dieticians available to help teach people how to eat healthy and new dishes that can be made from fresh produce.
