KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City might be known for its barbecue, but there's a whole lot more to the local food scene. This month you can sample the best of the best.
Kansas City Restaurant Week kicks off Friday and runs through January 26. On Tuesday night, some attended a preview for some tasty samples.
This year there are 132 restaurants participating. Organizers say Kansas City is becoming known as one of the best restaurant destinations in the country.
"Local chefs, local restaurant owners, collaborators—they're friendly. They're welcoming. They want to try new things and that carries over to all the citizens who go to the restaurants," said.
