One of the most popular holiday lights show in or around Kansas City kicks off Wednesday night at Longview Lake, and 99.7 The Point's Tony Lorino is here to tell us about it.
Gates at Longview Lake open at 5 p.m. for 99.7 The Point's Christmas in the Sky. There will be a stage show at 6 p.m. and fireworks at 7:40 p.m.
Immediately afterward, you can take the first drive through Christmas in the Park.
Put on each year by the Jackson County Parks Department, Christmas in the Park includes 300,000 lights, 175 animated figures and splashes of Christmas color all through Longview Lake Park.
Wednesday's Christmas in the Sky kickoff party and drive-thru trips through Christmas in the Park are free all season long. Donations to local charities are accepted.
Christmas in the Park is open Sunday through Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday & Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Christmas in the Park is located at the Longview Lake Beach entrance on Raytown Road. Directional signs are located on Raytown Road south of Interstate 470.
