The Summit on the New American City will be held Dec. 3-4 at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation says the event will bring together mayors and business leaders from more than 30 cities.
Officials will discuss how cities can foster startup companies. Other topics include urban infrastructure.
Leaders will come from as far away as New York, Boston, New Orleans, Atlanta, San Francisco, Seattle and Salt Lake City. Officials from several cities in the Kansas City metropolitan area also plan to attend, including Lee's Summit in Missouri and Leawood in Kansas.
The event is organized by the group CityAge, which puts on similar events across North America.
