KANSAS CITY, Mo. - After a strict diet of bland food, boiled beef and gastrointestinal medicine, the Kansas City Zoo's star polar bear is back in action.
Last week, Zoo CEO and Director Randy Wisthoff said Nikita was being closely monitored and treated by professional veterinary staff for an intestinal upset stomach.
But for now, all is well after a week of being out of the spotlight. According to a news release, the 6-year-old polar bear will be back on exhibit in Polar Bear Passage starting Friday, June 28.
