KANSAS CITY, Mo. - If you want to sweat and scream and have a lot of fun, I highly recommend tennis! I had a blast playing at the Plaza Tennis Center near 47th street and Main on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, Mo.
I honestly love playing tennis; I only wish I could play well. I like it because in tennis there's always a chance that you can make a comeback if you're losing.
Scott Hanover is director of Tennis at the Plaza Tennis Center. He was kind enough to give me some pointers. However, I spent most of the time running around picking up balls which is a great workout for the abs and legs--so I didn't mind a bit!
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 6, 7 and 8, Plaza Tennis Center will host Kansas city's oldest tennis tournament, the Kansas City Open. It's a free event and anyone can come and watch. More than 125 players are scheduled to compete.
Plaza Tennis Center also has classes from beginner to advanced for all ages. You can find a list on their website .
