Exquisite art sometimes can't compete with a cute puppy face. The Young Friends of the Arts (YFA) teamed up with KC Pet Project to help these four-legged cuties find a home of their own. Not only could animal lovers enjoy playing with the puppies, but several local breweries gave out samples of their latest brews.

Only three dogs were available to be adopted, and the KC Pet Project expects them to go fast!

KC Pet Project is currently in desperate need for foster parents. The Foster Care Program allows you to take in one of the animals, while KC Pet Project searches for that animal's forever home.

"A foster home is critical to our shelter," says Miranda Pratt of KC Pet Project. "A foster family might care for an animal who is sick or injured, too young for adoption or is stressed in the shelter and need a little time away."

Benefits of becoming a foster parent to a pet:

  • You'll help socialize a shelter animal so they become more adoptable and better companions.
  • Fostering helps you explore many different breeds of dogs and cats.
  • If for some reason you can't keep a full-time companion animal, fostering for short time periods is an ideal solution.
  • You'll know that you're making a huge difference in the lives of your fosters and other animals at the shelter.

It only takes a few steps to become a foster parent. You must be at least 18 years old and sign Foster Care Contract.

Sad about missing out? You are in luck! KC Pet Project is going to a galaxy far, far away for its next big adoption event.

Star Wars Day at Zona Rosa will feature your favorite Star Wars characters in person and your new furry best friend. Adopt your very own wookiee or ewok, aka dog or cat, at our Zona Rosa Adoption Center for a special adoption price that day only. The event is at the Pet Adoption Center in Zona Rosa on Saturday, May 20th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
