Preventing insects from getting inside your home

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Itching, scratching and swatting are a rite of summer, but you don't have to live with all these bugs all over your lawn and in your home. This is a very easy do-it-yourself project that will have you enjoying your lawn again without fear of the bugs bugging you all the time.

It is white grub season and these ugly worms can destroy your entire lawn before you even know you have them. Grubs destroy the root system of your lawn. If you're having bug problems in your lawn just put down white grub control with your lawn spreader and water it in. This chemical from Scotts will help give you protection all season long.

If you've got bugs like flees, ticks, chiggers and more, you can give your lawn a one-two punch with Bayer Complete  Insect Control. This will help give you protection against both the white grub worms and all those pesky insects. Just apply it with your lawn spreader and be sure to water it in after you're done.

Now, here's an easy way to keep bugs out of your house. Protect it from the outside with a pump sprayer mix of Spectracide Triazicide per instructions along with water and spreader sticker and spray your foundation along the ground and up the foundation with about a five feet swath. This creates a moat of protection around your home and the bugs won't survive crawling through the journey into your home.

You can apply this insect method once in the summer, once in the fall and once in the spring and you'll be amazed at how much you keep bugs from coming into your home.

This is very important. Don't use pesticides in the home. If you have a bug problem in your home, it's time to call a professional.
