Take a look at the Community of Christ Temple in Independence, Missouri.

At the center is a jaw-dropping spire that extends 300 feet into the air. The architects wanted to give the impression it was extending towards God.

If you look up from inside the sanctuary you can see the spiral extending upwards. The sanctuary itself can hold 1,600 people and features a massive organ with 5,600 pipes.

The rest of the building is full of meaningful architecture, as well. Such as the large brass doors with a message of "peace" written on them and a large world map made out of brick immediately outside. Churchgoers walk through the door as they leave the sanctuary. Together, the doors and map are meant to symbolize going out into the world in peace.

The entire structure is 157,537 square feet and cost $35 million to build.
