KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A longtime Kansas City clothing store is closing.
Jack Henry on the Plaza is closing its doors after 83 years.
Jack Henry founded the store in 1931, which changed hands 20 years ago. The new owners moved it to its current location.
They say while the brand is an institution, it doesn't fit the needs of modern consumers.
"Growing up, I remember as a kid visiting my dad as he worked here as a tailor, visiting the tailor shop back then and then carrying on the tradition through our family. My brothers and I are saddened by it," co-owner Spiro Arvanitakis said.
The store will have a going out of business sale starting next Thursday through Labor Day.
