OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Three Sprint call centers – including one in Overland Park – will be closed as part of the company’s ongoing efficiency review process.
The Overland Park-based telecommunications provider made the announcement to employees this week, which impacts about 200 employees at its call center in Overland Park. Call centers in Sacramento, Calif. and Elmsford, N.Y. are also affected.
Sprint Spokeswoman Melinda Tiemeyer says employees’ last day will be March 28, though they will be paid through April 8.
The number of jobs affected at the two other call center locations wasn’t immediately available.
Earlier this year, Sprint announced it was undertaking a general review to find efficiencies in the company with plans to announce specific information this spring.
