Gas prices up ahead of Fourth of July weekend

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - If you’re traveling this Fourth of July weekend, get ready to pay at the pump.

Gas prices are up to the highest price in five years.

AAA is expecting 34.8 million road trips over the next three days. It's a 2.2 percent increase from last year.

AAA said there are few things keeping people on the road including drivers being used to fluctuating gas prices and many people driving more fuel efficient cars. Flights for a family of four are also still more expensive than driving.

If you’re getting ready to hit the road, check the gas prices first. Check at our website at kshb.com/gasprices .
