Housing market improved nationally and in Kansas City metro

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - After reaching an all time low in sales and new home construction in 2008 and 2009, the latest research shows that the housing market is maintaining steady growth. The same rebound is happening in the Kansas City metropolitan area.

Sharon Aubuchon, a leading realtor with Reece and Nichols in Kansas City, Kan., is showing positive signs of improvement. There was a 6.2 percent increase in the price of a median home from September of last year to this September.

Later today online and on 41 Action News, Aubuchon will explain the trend in home prices, the number of houses on the market and what it means to consumers who want to sell or buy a home.
